Currently...

As the summer days pass by, I find myself having time to play on my favorite website, Pinterest!  As I am sure most of you have discovered this website by now and love it as much as I do, but if you haven't... GO!  You will love it!

I found a link to a blog today!  She likes to do something called Currently.
This was really need and I thought it would be great for a writing stem, so I wanted to give it a whirl.
I didn't want to take her idea completely, but she is getting credit, but I am typing mine over here.

CURRENTLY

LISTENING: to the silence of my home.  The children are away and the house is peaceful and "Silence is golden!"  As the movie theatres tell us.

LOVING: summer break!  It was what I needed.  My blood pressure is down, and I am thinking clearly about life and priorities.  The Lord is good!

THINKING:  There has been too much month and not enough paycheck!  lol  Summer fun is a great way to spend those pennies and we are just having so much fun.

WANTING:  To decide on my next craft project.  My office is back in working order and I am getting the itch to craft!  I will post pics for sure, don't you worry!

NEEDING: My tooth pain to go away.  I have had some extensive dental work done this summer and the pain has become crippling at times.  I also need to go for a run, but today is a day of rest, so tomorrow I'll be posting my update on my workout on facebook!  I recommend C25K, it's a great way to get moving!

TIPS, TRICKS OR HINTS:  Did you know running your ceiling fan is cheaper than running your air conditioner?  Our fans are on and they are helping that air conditioner take a break during this brutal Texas Summer Heat!

------------
I am liking the Currently idea!  It is nice and sweet... maybe an addition to the fourth grade PLC coverage plans as a writing stem practice... Should I add it anywhere else?

Time Flies By!!!

Well, I said I would write more, and I haven't really gotten there.  You know what it's like when you have good intentions, but you just can't follow through on everything?  I would like to say that I follow through with everything, but that would be a lie.  I have the desire to do many things, but haven't gotten to all of them.  So, here are some things that I have actually done instead of continuing to dwell on how I haven't written in my blog....

Last school year was wonderful!  I feel like I have really come into my own in the classroom, and am debating on whether or not to take the leap out of music and onto something a little different.  Time will tell, and God will lead me in that direction.

The kids are great.  I now have two high school graduates, a freshman and a second grader.  Time is going by so fast.  Just like summer.  I have really enjoyed this summer break.  I haven't done too much in the work area, just been having fun with my kiddos.

I GOT MARRIED!!!!!  The annulment letter came in December and we got married on March 9th!  We had the party we dreamed of having, thanks to our family and friends!

I hope you all are doing well, and aren't being too hard on yourself about not finishing everything you set your mind to doing.  Remember God gave you today as a fresh start on your journey, you choose what to do with your day.
Talk to you soon, hopefully sooner than later!

Tom's the guy!!!!

Well, school has started back, and time is going by fast!  I can't believe that August cam and went and it is already the 8th of September!!!!  Wow!  The girls are doing great, and Zeke is awesome!  (That's the dog, fyi, lol!)  But I didn't sit down to Blog and to talk about the kiddos today.  I wanted to talk about Tom.  He is my fiance.  We have been engaged since October, 22, 2010.  We have been just enjoying life and not stressing about a wedding... we'll see, maybe I'll be talking about a wedding soon, who knows!?  We are on God's Time, and he is keeping us blessed, so we'll get there.

I think I have a great guy!  If you don't know him, he is 6'5", and a barrel of laughs and sarcastic quips.  I love that he is invested in what is going on with all four of our kids, and that he is always there for me no matter what.  A couple of weeks ago, we had a rip roaring day of home repairs... The kitchen sink was leaking, the vaccuum cleaner was clogged, and the washing machine died.  All of this in a matter of about three hours... He just kept working and working.... If you know me you know I am helpful, and crafty, but not the least bit handy!  lol

I know I am always writing about my family and things, but they are the things that keep me going.  I love my job, and I love my love for education.  I'm still on the hunt for an AP job, and that will also come in God's Time!  Thanks for reading!  I'll post again soon!

Back to school 2012-2013

Well summer will be officially over in just a few hours.  My room is ready and I am in lesson planning mode.  This is my fourth year at my school and this year my fourth and fifth graders will be completing a classroom dictionary sheet on their first day of music.  I want to create a chance to better connect with them as I only see them every six days.  After they fill out the dictionary sheet each child will get a scavenger hunt sheet.  There questions about our rules, tempo markings (posted on the wall), who the composer of the month is (Saint-Saens) etc.  If it is posted, I want them to find it and know where it is, so that they are ready to go when the time comes for them to need to use the information.  I will post pictures of the room soon!  I hope you all have a great start to the school year!  Good luck, and don't forget to pack your patience!

A wonderful summer!!!!

This summer was one for the record books for me!  In my last post I let all of you know that I graduated with my Master's in Education, and that meant that this summer I didn't have to go to summer school!
So, I pounced on the opportunity and went into mommy mode!
We went to Vacation Bible School.  I went twice, and Parker went three times!
We watched our oldest graduate from high school!  So very proud of you Zach!
We had our first summer with a teenage driver in the house and she is doing a great job, and blossoming into a wonderful young lady!  Love that Mickey!
Logan came to visit for six weeks, and we had a lot of fun talking about sports cars, guns, toads, hunting and all things boy!  Let me tell you that I am not used to it, but I did my best.
Parker lost her first top front tooth, and has almost mastered riding her bike without training wheels!
Tom has a new shift at work, and will be home with us every night now for dinner!
The Lord is so very good to us!
Now we do live in Texas, and let me tell you it is HOT!   But we are still here, and having a great time!

I have started working on things for this school year, and am excited about the new ideas I have!  I will post about them as soon as they are completed and I have taken pictures of them!  Very excited!

I only have three more days of summer left, and I plan to swim every evening!  I will miss summer 2012!  But this year will be full of new family memories!  I am ready to jump in, and watch my family take it on!

One year later...

Ok, so maybe I didn't keep up with this like I had hoped!  It has only been a year since I posted anything and I want to get back into it.
So, here is what is going on since I ast posted...  My oldest stepson has graduated from high school, my oldest step daughter is going to be a senior this year, and my youngest step son will be in eighth grade this year.  My daughter had a great time in Kindergarten, and is looking forward to first grade.  Tom and I are doing great, we are still engaged, and are hoping that the official date for the wedding will be October 20, 2012.  We know it is soon, but we aren't sweating it!  I graduated with my master's in education and administration, and passed my principal's exam! So, now I am on the job hunt, but in the mean time, I am looking forward to a school year focused on my kiddos, and the fun this year will bring!

I have started working on things for this school year, and need to purchase a few things, and then I'll be ready to go!  Ready to go, as in set up, and start planning, lol!  I am hoping to be better about posting, so that I can keep everyone in the loop on what is going on at the little house in Richmond!

Take care!

Summer in full force

Summer school has started up again, and it is going well. I can't believe that summer is 2/3 done already.  I guess time is flying because I'm having fun, or something like that.  lol
Parker lost her first tooth last week, and is happy that the tooth fairy came to visit.
Michaela is going to flag camp this week, and is having a lot of fun becoming apart of the group.  She started driver's ed last night too... so watch out on the roads, because she gets her permit on Friday!
She's sweet, and very excited, so this will be a fun new adventure for all of us.
Tom is working hard, and we are having a great time taking care of the girls.
I'll write more soon.
